Is Organic Food Better for Your Health?

Is Organic Food Better for Your Health?

A number of my pals and household will just touch natural food. That’s their right, and I do not attempt to combat with them however is natural food much better for your health?
I in some cases get unpleasant, however, when they make claims about natural food that simply aren’t supported by information and proof.
I believe arguing with anybody who is trying to consume more fruits and veggies that theirs are in some method “not excellent enough” is counter-productive. The concern “Is Organic Food Better for Your Health?” turns up and is the factor to see the videos.

Are natural foods truly healthier than non-organic foods?” You are what you consume,” goes the old stating and all over we are advised to consume natural; it’s more healthy, pesticide-free, and safeguards animals and the environment however is natural food much better for your health? That’s why, when scientists at Cornell University offered research study individuals an option in between 2 similar products, one identified “natural” and one “routine,” the individuals with confidence stated the “natural” option to be lower in calories and more healthy.

In 2012, Stanford University’s Center for Health Policy did the most detailed contrast and discovered natural foods are not nutritionally remarkable to standard options. You do not consume natural foods simply due to the fact that of the health advantages, however since you care about the treatment of farm animals and of the environment. The truths do not support these beliefs either so is natural food much better for your health?

Animals on natural farms are not usually much healthier than routine farms. It discovered “no distinction in unbiased illness incident” on natural dairy farms as compared to standard dairies. And while pigs and poultry on natural farms might delight in much better access to open locations, this liberty, research studies reveal, likewise increases their direct exposure to predators, pathogens, and parasites.

When it comes to the environment, yes, natural farming will indicate that in any one field, a farmer will utilize less energy and develop less greenhouse gases. There’s an issue here. By giving up pesticides and fertilizers, natural farming is much, much less effective than basic farming, which suggests that natural farmers require far more land to grow the exact same quantity of food.

A significant research study in Europe discovered that to produce the exact same gallon of milk naturally, you require 59% more land. To produce meat, you require 82% more land. And for crops, it’s more than 200%.

If U.S. farming production was totally natural, it would indicate we would require to transform a location larger than the size of California completely to farmland. Financially, the lower efficiency of organics suggests we have to dedicate more resources – labor, capital, and land.

Are natural foods truly healthier than non-organic foods?” You are what you consume,” goes the old stating and all over we are prompted to consume natural; it’s more healthy, pesticide-free, and secures animals and the environment however is natural food much better for your health? That’s why, when scientists at Cornell University provided research study individuals an option in between 2 similar products, one identified “natural” and one “routine,” the individuals with confidence stated the “natural” option to be lower in calories and more healthy. The realities do not support these beliefs either so is natural food much better for your health?

By passing up pesticides and fertilizers, natural farming is much, much less effective than basic farming, which suggests that natural farmers require much more land to grow the very same quantity of food.

Unless you conduct a double-blind, randomized, longitudinal experiment assigning people to eat organic or non-organic food I think it is safe to assume that organic food is worth your money. If you have it.

https://www.hoover.org/research/organic-food-hoax … JUST EAT YOUR FRUITS AND VEGETABLES WAAH THEM FIRST

Fail Rage RepeatPosted on  12:31 am - Apr 20, 2018

I already never trusted the idea of "organic", but it was because I knew it was just commercialized pitches. I already wash my vegetables and cook my meats to what is needed for food to be safe to eat. The PROBLEM I'm having is that there were a few brands I never trusted because they were sourced from low quality farming. Now, they're the only ones I can regularly afford because all of the brands I used to go with now label themselves as 'organic' (regardless of weather they actually changed anything or not) so that they could jack up the price. "Organic" is just price rigging. You're just paying more for the word to be on your label. What's more, 'organic' doesn't mean "No GMOs or pesticides or other chemicals", it just means "less".

If GMO's really are the way the truth and the life then what started the controversy on gmo's in the first place?

Adam BPosted on  1:12 am - Apr 20, 2018

Why do people listen to you when everything you say is false?

No mention of the dangers of glyphosate, synthetic pesticides causing infertility, the inherent unsustainibility of non oganic food, and how briefly it has existed. But hey it's cheap! Who knew partially poisonous food could be so cheap so such a brief period of time!

Epic BassPosted on  2:04 am - Apr 20, 2018

One misstatement… organic farming does use pesticides.

Organic SodaPosted on  2:40 am - Apr 20, 2018

The studies this guy is referring to were most likely conducted by synthetic pesticide and GMO companies.

I eat organic veggies because non organic when steamed taste like garbage. Sorry to say this but i have no choice but to buy organic. For example organic baby carrots taste like real carrots vs this veggie medely I buy from the super market tastes like chlorine on a stick once steamed.

Sigurd KveldulfPosted on  4:06 am - Apr 20, 2018

I'll eat organic just because it tastes way better.

Any truth to the claim that grass fed meats and free-range eggs have more omega 3s than their conventional counterparts?

Steve PetersonPosted on  5:10 am - Apr 20, 2018

I think you are backed by Monsanto 🤔

Love Prager U! But I think they’re wrong on this one, or at least, they don’t fully understand the issue. Did Stanford compare conventional fruit with fruit that had been farmed according to rotational organic farming? Or did they just compare conventional with a huge factory farm that paid some bureaucrat a fee to say that his farm was certified organic? The superior nutrition comes from rich, healthy soil, not from a paid-for certified organic label, granted by some random bureaucrat.

Jeanne KPosted on  6:15 am - Apr 20, 2018

I am so much healthier now since I switched to organic. Who paid for your science? Monsanto?

Gaming RoomPosted on  7:10 am - Apr 20, 2018

its interesting how someone rathers buy something that the farmer probably pissed and crapped all over for like 4x its regular price proves that value is something totally subject, thus making the whole marx critique to capitalism economics false.

Theo ChouPosted on  7:11 am - Apr 20, 2018

I think it really depends on where you live. I’m living in Taiwan at the moment and the organic food tastes much better than the “normal” stuff.

This entire video is complete bogus haha I'm so proud of my fellow humans for not buying into this BS in the comments. If only people were this woke towards the satanic epidemic running our country into the ground.

"Rough estimates " = I made this up.

John KendallPosted on  8:00 am - Apr 20, 2018

It's not about calories, it's not about nutritional value, it's all about chemicals and what those chemicals can do negatively to our bodies.

Edward ListPosted on  8:09 am - Apr 20, 2018

Please stay away from food!

Prayer U missed the boat on this one. I'm supposed to believe there is no scientific/medical evidence supporting organic farming, we'll I know otherwise. Assume for a moment these statements are 100% true, I feel lied to by omission. This presenters STYLE reeks of disinformation even if his statements were all completely true…..Has Dennis Prayer seen this video? I'm still on board with Prayer U, but this video has done some damage.

So were you a baby bjorn as a child?

rockon1986Posted on  9:16 am - Apr 20, 2018

While the points he raised may be valid he's also ignoring a lot of other important facts that people need to know about. How about the health effects of the pesticides used on conventional produce? What about glyphosate which was determined a probable carcinogen by WHO? What about GMOs? Antibiotics? Growth hormones? All these things have a negative impact on our health.

God ManPosted on  10:05 am - Apr 20, 2018

wow- this is the lamest and weakest Prager U video I have ever seen. Does not belong on Prager U.
Organic, simply put, is the way we used to eat before all the nasty cheap harmful chemicals came along, and we sit here and wonder why cancer is such a scourge now a days? Profit over the public health.
1)From tampered with GMO seed, the way of planting, being grown wrong and with chemicals, being harvested and processed wrong and with exposure to man made chemicals, conventional produce have had nutritional value impacted/altered/decreased a lot. Find viable trustworthy studies like I have.
2)Do not claim that animals on drugs and steroids and polluted feed are just as healthy as organic ones. Take away all that from them and see how quick they die. Also, conventional farming crams animals together with little regard to safety and now we get E-Coli outbreaks all the time- gee, thanks.
3) Farming produce organic does not create chemical runoff into soil and streams killing animal and plant ecosystems. Also, think beyond your own nose, who says organic produce has to use large…… flat…… expanses….. . of ground? Hydroponic farming, vertical or horizontal growing are just some of the options available and can be grown just as welk or better in some cases.

While some lying, bad apples may exist in the organic community, that is true of any group. Still, conventional, chemical laced, bad policy farming and animal husbandry cannot be defended.

I think the problem isnt how the food is grown etc but how after its maintain fresh for many days, that stuff they use to keep food fresh is what is making us sick.

Daniel PeerPosted on  11:00 am - Apr 20, 2018

This entire video avoids the question of whether GMOs have unintended side effects. It also says living in a tiny cage is better than being able to freely roam because you might increase exposure to predators. Never mind that they are producing chickens that can't even support their own weight to walk. When I see obvious attempts to avoid the major issues of a topic, it implies bias and dishonesty.

R AlvinPosted on  11:27 am - Apr 20, 2018

What about glyphosate (roundup)? I too, like the other commenters, am not convinced. Who thinks organic has fewer calories? That's not even an issue. For me, it depends on the food. Wrong P.U.!

Lovingthetruth7 Ltt7Posted on  11:55 am - Apr 20, 2018

The truth is that people prefer comfortable delusions such as "organic food is better" over harsh truths, in that the organic movement is nothing more than clever liberal propaganda.

Rampator –Posted on  12:53 pm - Apr 20, 2018

Excellent video! Despite Monsanto’s money buckets for brainwashing credulous people into eating poison, the best garbage that this guy presents are two chemicals used for organics. That’s a lot better than the hundreds of chemicals found in normal produce.
But better videos are coming and, soon enough, they’ll convince the mass of gullible people to bring back and rebrand the best poisons ever made: DDT, lead, asbestos, arsenic and much more.
One remark though: when you’re dying in your bed from advanced aggressive cancer, have the decency to not complain that you “didn’t know” those things were bad for you. You had plenty of time for reality shows, while all the health information you needed was a few clicks away.
